The 9th Serenata Colombiana brought its audience new experiences related to the Colombian culture and two great musical interpretations by Sarah Marie Vanegas and Aluna.
Sarah Marie Vanegas, born in Oregon, is a dedicated pianist who discovered Colombian music through her husband; today that music is her passion. You can listen to her by clicking here. If you are interested in buying her CD, you can order it directly from us. Telephone: (530) 756-1756.
The musical group Aluna was the other special invited guest this year. Their repetoire of gaitas, tamboras, bullerengue, and cumbia transported the audience to our Caribbeancoast..
This year’s theme (with Los Primos and Colombia Viva) was: "A Brief History of Colombian Music and Dance". We showed their evolution and the influence other cultures have had on ours.
The proceeds from this event will be invested in the Preschool Centro Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza, in the La Esperanza neighborhood, Bucaramanga, Colombia.
